| The Institute for Satellite and Software Applications | ||||||
 As an initiative of the Department of Communications,
ISSA was established in 1998 with the aim of meeting the high level
demands of the ICT sector in South Africa. ISSA was mandated with
the creation of high-level human resources in the ICT sector. The
vision has subsequently evolved to the development of high-level
ICT applications to meet the needs of the country and the continent. |

| ISSA's vision is to develop high level and quality tailor made applications in relation to the needs of the South African ICT sector for the purpose of social uplifment and stimulation of economic growth.

ISSA is currently housed in the Houwteq Satellite Integration Facility in Grabouw,
approximately 80 km from Cape Town, in the beautiful Western Cape province of South Africa.
